Hill Design Engineering has long been involved with the design and construction of new homes, additions and alterations, and also domestic swimming pools.

HDE prepares the structural designs for beams, foundations, retaining walls, as well as the architectural design and preparation of plans. The team is routinely involved in the preparation of Resource Consent and Building Consent applications. In addition, construction observation is frequently a key function of Hill Design Engineering.


Camp Family Home

Hill Design Engineering was appointed to produce the design and construction plans for a substantial single level home in the Drury Hills, overlooking Ramarama. Included in the design criteria were a sunken lounge, and a distinctive pitched timber sarked ceiling. Construction incorporated a concrete tiled roof, plastered brick veneer wall cladding, and light timber wall framing, all on a concrete ground slab.

Jordan Family Home

A quaint original bach at Maraetai Heights was demolished to make way for a substantial family home. The design of the new dwelling needed to take full advantage of the breathtaking views across the Hauraki Gulf, which include Rangitoto Island, Waiheke Island, and beyond. The design brief also specified a desire for good street appeal.

Julian Family Home

Hill Design Engineering was commissioned to produce the architectural design and construction plans for this outstanding rural home, located in the Hunua Hills. The owners specified four bedrooms, an outdoor swimming pool, substantial garaging, and large cathedral-style living/dining space. Also included was the design for an onsite wastewater system.

Multi Unit Apartments

The design of these double storey attached apartments included timber weatherboard and brick veneer cladding, in addition to pitched roofs with traditional weathertight eaves.

Re-clad of Remuera Dwelling

Hill Design Engineering was contracted to create the design and detailing for the reclad of the existing plaster-clad dwelling. The owners specified timber weatherboards over a weatherproof wall cavity system.
